Statistically during a typical year, 42 percent of all reported construction accidents* in the New York City metropolitan area are the result of workers falling from ladders, scaffolding and roofs. In many cases, unsafe ladders led directly to the accidental fall. If you are injured because of falling from a defective or unsafe ladder on a construction project in the New York City metropolitan area, call Cohen & Cohen Law Group, P.C.
From our offices in Forest Hills, our firm represents injured construction workers in personal injury litigation matters in Queens and throughout the New York City metropolitan area. Contact us to schedule a free case evaluation with a Queens ladder accident attorney today.
Your Rights Under New York Labor Law
Under Section 241 of the New York State Labor Law Statutes, property owners may be held liable for damages paid to construction workers who are injured in a fall or other type of accident on the construction site. Injured workers are entitled to seek damages in a third-party lawsuit for premises liability, and may also seek compensation from the manufacturer of the defective ladder or unsafe equipment. Third-party damages may be paid in addition to New York workers’ compensation benefits.
Our firm is not a New York workers’ compensation firm. We help injured construction workers recover full and fair monetary damages from all parties held liable for causing the accident and injuries or wrongful death. Call us if you have been injured in any type of accident while working on a construction site or as a result of a construction-related project.
Our experience includes construction accident claims resulting from:
- Falls from roofs, ladders and defective scaffolding
- Injuries from falling tools, equipment and materials
- Construction vehicle accidents
- Power tool accidents
- Roof and wall collapses
